Celebrity chef and Indiaphile Christine Manfield talks to MSN Travel.
Tasting India - written by Christine Manfield and photographed by Anson Smart - is a gorgeous, beautifully bound and wrapped travel book that takes the reader through a vibrant journey of the land. But this isn't just about pretty pictures: as Christine travels from north to south, she prints recipes of dishes she's tried as well as regional gems. What better introduction to a country than via the tastebuds? We asked her about her 20-year love affair with India - she runs food tours to the country - and this is what she had to say.
"There is a saying in India that if you don't believe in God before you experience Indian roads, you definitely will afterwards. Among the chaos and mayhem, there is a rule system, and it is an entirely different place that we're used to in the western world."
Tasting India, £40, is published by Conran Octopus.
