Muzhapilangad beach, where people stop for an afternoon ice-cream
"When you travel you have to be sensible - trust local advice. If you're eating on the street, go with recommendations that local people suggest. In India I've always got a local friend or guide - you instantly have that conduit to the country. Tips: usually, if the food on the street is cooked in front of you it means it's likely to be fresh. And look for queues - that usually means a fast turnover."
