I think all the laptops and I-Phones might get a bit wet; keep it away from the canal but let them pay the Canal and River Trust for the water they use to help pay for improved towpaths/cycleways and improving the existing canal infrastructure....
Whatever drunken idiot dreamt up this idea needs to take a cold bath - the canal would be ideal and the water quality is probably better than most people realise......!
