Henley-on-Todd Regatta, Australia
When the inhabitants of Alice Springs decided to launch a regatta in the style of that held in Henley-on-Thames, they didn't let the fact that the city is over 1,500km from the nearest large body of water concern them. Make your way to Alice Springs on 17 August 2013 to watch participants race in 'bottomless' boats over the dry sandy bed of the river Todd and admire the regatta's unique vessels at your leisure at a parade that takes place before the races begin.
