Visitors can learn firsthand about life in the region between 1770 and 1949 at the Village Historique Acadien, a reconstructed Acadian community in Rivière-du-Nord.

All the buildings were carefully studied and transported from Acadian regions of New Brunswick and interpreters dressed in period costumes teach visitors about the customs and crafts, such as broom making and printing.

Need a place to stay? With no telephones or televisions, rooms at Hôtel Château Albert offer an accurate portrayal of Acadian life.
