Kruger may be almost a cliche of South African tourism but that's because it delivers the goods that so many visitors come to see: lions and elephants in profusion as well as numerous other game roaming the wild plain. Kruger stretches an extraordinary 414km along the border with Mozambique; the roads traversing the park are generally in good condition. One activity becoming increasingly popular is edgy-sounding walks through the park in search of game – escorted walks, of course.
