Any beaches on the North Cornwall coast will be golden sand and high cliffs or dunes. Just go camping for a few days, its well worth it, to travel from camp to camp for a couple of weeks. Start at Hayle and make your way up towards Newquay. Don't miss Portreath, St Agnes, Perranporth and Morgan Porth. Bliss.

Who votes for these 'best of'' surveys?..Nobody been to West Wales?Let aloneScotland or the Scottish  islands....
In my 'youth' i loved Bournemouth beach.I took my Latvian girl friend on a walk along Studland to Bournemouth beaches. It was my !st time there for years and i was embarrassed at the litter but i was happy to have shown her a premier English beach.
Then we went to Liepaja in Latvia and i understood what a beach should be like...even with a 80,000+ population centre 5 minutes walk away!!
Its what you get used to - or learn to tolerate.

Methinks you have forgotten ALL the wonderful beaches around the whole coast of SCOTLAND!

I live near the most beautiful, cleanest and quietest beach in England. I refuse to tell anyone where it is so that it remains that way!!!

I notice that the wall and border guards are all still in place!!  No beaches worth visiting exept in south england below a line roughly extending from london to bristol!!! It makes on wonder why the southern counties (and LONDON) do not secede from the rest of the UK and leave us to gather our wode ourselves.

Our country is an Island, with a coastline to suit everybody. The problem I have with the south is the locals. They're 10 bob millionaires. A bunch of idiots who think they're on baywatch. Patathic lot!!!!
