Back with a Blue Flag for 2011, Croyde may just be England's most egalitarian beach; pro-surfers share the waves with first-timers, while families build sandcastles and grandmas snooze in deckchairs. The pretty village is a short walk from the beach, serving up cream teas and Cornish pasties by day, pub crawls and partying by night.
