We had some lively debate over this category, with Bilbao's Guggenheim, the Eden Project and many more buildings in the running. But top of the pile was the eccentric marvel that is the Sagrada Familia, in Barcelona. It is one of the most recognisable places of worship on the planet - and one of the longest running construction projects of modern times, started in 1882 and to be finished in 2026, the 100th anniversary of its creator Gaudi's death.
