OJ Simpson in court (CP Images)

It was described as the most publicised criminal trial in American history. Nicole Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman were found in pools of blood with their throats slit outside Nicole's home on Bundy Drive, in the upscale Californian suburb of Brentwood, on June 13, 1994. What followed was a dramatic low-speed police chase of the former American football star's infamous white Bronco (sales of this SUV, we imagine, have never been the same), a farcical trial in which an exasperated Simpson declared his hand didn't fit a glove found at the scene of the crime - remember "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit" - a murder acquittal, but a jail term, currently being served, for kidnapping and robbery.

Nicole Simpson's house has been renumbered 875S. Simpson is inmate #1027820.
