Some of the world's finest folk acts gather at Celtic Connections in Glasgow

Most music festivals are saved for the summer, but Celtic Connections takes advantage of the gap in the market to bring top class folk acts from around the world to Glasgow. Running from 13 to 30 January, catching a gig or two is the perfect excuse to explore a city that has seriously smartened up its act in the last 20 years or so. You've got top class museums such as the Science Centre and Kelvingrove to keep you occupied during the day while you're waiting for the artists in venues across the city.
