Surprisingly, Egypt, South America and India are not in the running. Instead, the winner is Australia's Aboriginal culture, which is the oldest continuous culture in history, dating back over 50,000 years. Once semi-nomadic hunters and gatherers, their close relationship with the land shaped traditions which flourished until settlers arrived in 1770 followed by British colonisation. Centuries later, Aboriginal culture is now widely celebrated for its rock art, music and other customs.
