The Gateshead Millennium Bridge in the UK is the world's only (and of course, first) tilting bridge, containing enough steel to make 64 double-decker buses. It sits on 19,000 tonnes of concrete and even cleans up its own rubbish - anything dropped onto the deck rolls into specially designed traps every time it opens.
