Born in 1832, from world wars to women getting the vote, Jonathan the tortoise has lived through it all. At 180 years old, his life spans eight British monarchs from George IV to Elizabeth II and 51 prime ministers. He's a resident on the grounds of Plantation House, the Governor's residence, on the remote South Atlantic island of St Helena, a British outpost.
