Thermal baths in Iceland

Who? Liz Gammon, shore excursions and cruise services manager, originally from Porthcawl in south Wales
Big differences: "It's not so much the climate, believe it or not - more the language, humour and food. The fact that I live with such 'little inconveniencies' such as earthquakes, blizzards and volcanic eruptions doesn't bother me in the least..."
Iceland loves: "It's hard to go past the beauty of the country - the mountains, the space, clean drinking water, air etc. I had spent 10 years previously in Holland, and to come to a country like Iceland where there was so much space was a breath of fresh air. It also reminded me a lot of Wales - and still does."
Favourite places: "I love being in the mountains behind my home in Hverageroi. It's located on top of an old volcanic magma chamber, which has resulted in an abundance of hot springs. To be able to hike up into the "hot spring valley" and take a bath in a warm river is indescribable. Another favourite place is on the decking outside my house, spending winter time in our hot tub with glass of wine in hand and the northern lights overhead."
