Few things fit the bill better for competition between countries than skyscrapers. And soon there is to be a - decidedly tall - new kid on the block: the Burj Dubai. The final height of the tower, in the Middle Eastern city that is coming to specialise in building the world’s biggest everything, is a secret. But this most ambitious of skyscrapers has already eclipsed previous record-holders by some 200m – and growing.
