Weather and low(ish) prices combine across Andalucia and the Algarve in October. David Cox, from the Seville-based tour company Really Discover, says: "By October, the intense summer heat in the inland cities such as Seville, Granada and Córdoba has gone. It's warm but pleasant to be outside in - perfect for walking around and drinks on café terraces or rooftop bars.
"In the coastal spots, it's generally still warm enough to go on the beach - sea temperatures lag a month or so behind land temperatures - while there are some brilliant deals to be snapped up in the resorts and hotels because the peak season has long gone. Throw in cheap flights from the UK and just about everything's right in October."
