Yes, Rio has its famous carnival, in case you were wondering what to do with those spare sequins. But the rest of the year there's still plenty to celebrate in the former Brazilian capital - knock back a couple of caipirinhas, made with cacacha, the local sugar cane spirit, and hit the city's Lapa district. Run-down by day, Lapa is home to the best nightlife in the city.
