Where: Ecola state park, Astoria, Oregon
When a group of kids finds a treasure map believed to have belonged to One-Eyed Willy, a legendary 17th-century pirate, they set off in search of his buried riches with the hope that they will be able to save their homes from foreclosure. The Steven Spielberg adventure-comedy The Goonies developed such a cult following that Astoria celebrates the movie's anniversary every few years with a big festival.
The festival includes a bus tour to filming locations and screenings of The Goonies at the local theatre. If you can't make the festival but still want to relive the beach scenes, grab your bike and head to Cannon Beach in Ecola state park.

Why oh why is there no mention of the absolute Best film with the ultimate beach..... The Beach... staring Leonardo De Caprio.... Now That was a Beach.... Thailand here I come..... one day!
Every other beach pales in comparrison... JMO
I think you will find that it was shot on Brighton Beach. The anomaly you are thinking of is during the scotter run down, they stop the scooters and Jimmy shouts "There's Brighton", in fact he is Eastbourne we see.
Of all the beaches mentioned Brighton has to be the ugliest by far...great if you like rocks and pebbles up your jacksy.
The most beautiful beach by far "3 Cliffs Bay "on the Welsh Gower didn't even get a mention!!
I think just missing other films with best beaches like in the film The beach were you can see Phi-Phi island - Thailand . New Zealand show other beautiful beaches like Cathedral beach Cave, , Greece, Caribbean Island, etc...
