Word of warning to anyone spending time in Marseille.
Beware of snatch and grab thieves, blokes on scooters who will grab your bag from your shoulder.
Make sure you always lock your car doors while you are stationary.
They WILL open the doors and steal what they can whilst you're sitting in traffic or at the lights.
Don't carry all your documents & money in one place, share it / divide it.
How do I know this? Was robbed 3 years ago, camera,cards,money docs stolen from a car intrusion while I was sitting with unlocked doors. Local gendarmerie very helpful but warned that this type of theft / mugging is very commonplace!
BTW, I'm back there in January, with locked doors.

Hi,just read your report on Oludeniz in turkey ,if you write stuff please make sure it is factual ,to say that the beach is sorrounded by high rise hotels is rubbish. It is an an area of outstanding natural beauty .This type of stupid comment can harm tourism in this area.Please research your subject before making comment ,or actually visit the place first, must of been thinking of Monte Carlo I think .Buildings here are actully limited to four stories and maybe a roof terrace.

It's Malta for me along with the warm friendly people Comes the warm friendly island. many parts of Malta are free of the tourist hotels but the tourist is usually met like a long lost friend. If I feel in the mood then i can spend time on one of the few Sandy beaches. I go to Malta as much as I can and always find something new to explore. i was once told by this couple, that went for 2 weeks, although they "liked Malta" they would not return as they had seen every thing. I think that the saying that you either love Malta or you hate it is very true. I thank my stars that I fall into the love section

These are all the usual places, why not try Garrucha, Almeria? No high rise, good food and drink in real Spain. Temp 28c in shade at 13:40 and is still warm in December. Clean beaches and friendly locals and yes i am biased as i have lived there for three years. Try a local rental company like spanish sun rentals for accommodation. With cheap car hire from the airport it is the place to be for a quiet break in the sun.

Poorna Shetty is obviously unfamiliar with the Balearic Islands in general, and Mallorca in particular! (It's what we have come to expect from MSN, of course.)
"Like most of the Balearic Islands"... How many does she think there are? A dozen??? Menorca lacks "a great bar scene", in my opinion. That's why I like it.
Oh, and Mallorca's "rugged southern coast"? That would be the rugged southern coast that you find in the North of the island, I assume.
"Pristine beaches", however, can be found and enjoyed.
