Nine not-for-profit, single-cause hotels… and one tour operator
When Sardinia made the news in 2011, it tended to be regarding Silvio Berlusconi's 'bunga bunga' parties. Away from the high-profile coastal strip of Costa Smeralda, Sardinia offers much better value anyway. The wild, less popular west coast is arguably more attractive, while the combo of pretty cities and a mountainous, forested interior makes the island great for exploring over a week or two.
Why in 2012? From 26 March onwards, reaching Sardinia promises to be a whole lot cheaper, as Ryanair is launching a route from Luton to Alghero on the island's north-west coast.

I totally agree with you ....but ...sorry I need a holiday !
There is a limit as to how much we need to be made to feel individually responsible for the current situation.
As for putting money into something with growth..... that doesn't happen at the moment. Interest rates are abysmal, house prices not rising etc .
So, sorry, but this weekend we're booking our holidays for the next few months.
