In response to your comment Graham I would like to make you aware that when I went to school Northern Ireland was part of the UK and I am not aware that the circumstances have changed.

Just to clarify ...

England, Scotland and Wales are Great Britain.

England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are the United Kingdom of Great  Britain and Northern Ireland.

All people born in the United Kingdom are British.

''Labour's Kate Hoey says Cameron should talk about the UK, not Britain, because Britain does not include Northern Ireland.Cameron says Hoey is right. He feels "rightly chastised", he says'' (source: guardian.co.uk, 2nd July 2012)

Officially, the nation is titled 'The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland' - Northern Ireland is not part of Britain.

That said, the Giant's Causeway is incredible and suitably ahead of British landmarks.

Why the white cliffs of Dover? whenever they wanted white cliffs on films they used the Seven Sisters in East Sussex

There all great places but for me you can't beat Loch Ness for beauty or atmosphere- the gateshead millennium bridge is too modern,so is blackpool tower and the angel of the north-nothing wrong with them just too modern. It just shows that the uk has some wonderful places to see!

Northern Ireland is still classed as British as is Wales and as is Scotland.... being British does not just merely mean you are from England... that wud make you English!!!! I am the son of a professor of Geography and he clearly states that Britain is made up of the three countries of England, Scotland and Wales and also the State of Northern Ireland!!!!
