The awards are called the 'Oscars of the design world' and one category in particular interests us - architecture. The winner is selected by an international jury and all the nominees can be seen at the Design Museum until 4 July 2012. Which grand creation won? Hint - it's best explored with two wheels...

The square monstrosity on the River Weir is awful!! What an insult to some of the finest countryside in the UK. If I lived near there I would be furious. Are the architects related to the circus Chipperfields? Should be, this looks like they think we're all clowns.

How can the art centre in Wakefield be a cool building? it's basically a rip off of 1960s concrete block boxes, also see Lego designs!
