Forget pull-out beds and teeny lino wet rooms. There's a new breed of caravan…
Biddulph Grange Garden, Biddulph, Staffordshire
If you are a fan of eccentric landscapes you'll love Biddulph Grange Garden. Designed in the 19th century, it is undoubtedly one of the country's most magical gardens, made up of a series of connected 'compartments' each with its own distinct theme. Take a stroll around the tranquil Chinese water-garden with its pagoda and imitation Great Wall; wander along the Renaissance-style terraces in the Italian garden and meander through the Egyptian garden where yew hedges form the walls of an Egyptian temple. Linked by winding pathways and stepping-stones across water, each garden is filled with exotic plants and flowers like Japanese maples, cherries and azaleas. The Dahlia Walk is gorgeous this time of year too, featuring a series of beds planted with over 600 dahlias and formal rose parterres.
