Not a bad transformation for this former quarrying town turned seaside resort, which has a beach with Blue Flag status (the environmental mark only given to clean beaches).

Sheltered by green hills, the waters are generally calm and the beaches relatively golden and sandy. "Beautiful views", says TripAdvisor user Neatham, probably referring to those stretching along the World Heritage Jurassic Coast.
