Thanks to the Gulf Stream, St Ives usually enjoys slightly warmer weather than most British coastal towns, and a £100 million clean-up campaign means gloriously clean water if you fancy a dip.

TripAdvisor user Mose1 stated that it was "superb!", while Occrtrix pointed out that the delights are not all beach-bound: "I love St Ives, there's something for everyone there."
