Wild camping on Dartmoor
Stress-free factor: no other campers
Getting back to nature is all very well, but there's nothing relaxing about a crowded campsite with the kids in the next-door tent pinging around from 5am... every morning. Dartmoor is the only place in England where you can 'wild-camp', which means pitching your tent wherever you please. There are some restrictions - make sure you're not on farmland, or less than 100 metres from a road, but there are some wonderfully isolated corners of the moor that provide the perfect holiday break.
