San Francisco? The biggest disappointment of my life, so provincial, full of boastful Americans touting for tips. Edinburgh? Now, speaking as an admiring Englishman, there's a real City!

i just want to get away from politicians who keep talking **** for hours on end, its all lies and set up just to get your money.

One day i will have enough to get on that plane and leave the Queens country and her goverment behind for good, im sick of em.

I have to agree, I was born in Edinburgh and there is nowhere quite like it.   It's wonderful architecture, position by sea, hills and countryside and of course steeped in history.  It has a wonderful cultural side as well and quite frankly everything you could possible want in a modern, vibrant city.  Auld Reekie you are simply the best.

Oslo is stunning with with the fjords and small islands.  I was lucky to live on olvoya, one of the islands for a year.  In the winter people used to sit on deckchairs on the frozen water sunbathing.

In the summer it can be light all the time......

I'm surprised Cardiff isn't here to be honest, I find the shopping opportunities just about as good as London but a fraction of the price, friendlier people and less chance of getting run over by public transport.

I agree, most places are beautiful and interesting places to visit.

I somehow suspect that a lot of the photos are one-off occurances. The photo of Sydney showing a black man on a beach holding a surf board has got to be a fake. Or, the photographer waited for decades to find a black man with a surf board on a beach in Sydney.

Can't beat San Francisco, I actually prefer it to New York. Especially when you're driving probably the best driving road in the world, the Pacific Coast Highway.

Brighton's beach consists of large pebbles !!!

Cant understand how these places have been chosen. As a seasoned world traveller my picks would be Singapore, Venice, Rome. Sidney. I think people should visit the places and more important take decent pictures before they make comment. Get travelling then VOTE

Llasa is wonderful too and Beijing has plenty to see.

Central London is ok but the surrounding suburbs are crap and on the whole, it is an expensive craphole that offers little more than multiculturalism. Brighton? An outdated Victorian cesspit that ain't even a city and as a kid i didn't like it as i couldn't build sandcastles on it's pebble-strewn foot-busting beach.

Brighton!?!?!?

You can re-create that place simply by flooding parts of Birmingham

How the f**k did that get in?

All very popular well known destinations.  It's off the beaten track where the real gems lie; Ho Chi Minh City for one is awesome
