You can't argue with a city that has a beautiful beach only 5km from its city centre and if you get up early enough, you can catch the legendary sunrise. As it's located in Scotland, temperatures can be a few degrees below the average (currently it has a high of 19C) but while it may not be the warmest spot to strip off and take to the water, it more than makes up for it in quaint Scottish charm and stunning scenery across the bay.

London...? i couldn't think of a worst place to be in the sun! Get down the Gower or Devon.

for the price of fuel you might as well head off towards France and Italy - that is if you can afford the ferry crossing / channel tunnel. They have it all worked out how to fleece us proper hardcore.

London ? yeah, go lie in the sun in London just make sure to bring a gasmask for the pollution and also keep an eye on your purse

Oh yeah lets go and lie on some pebbles! Great idea.

I would've said WH Smiths is the best place in Britain to enjoy 'The Sun' this week - they're giving away free Lego!

This really is a very poor article, the Best places to enjoy the sun.
Do the fountains of Trafalgar square, a concrete stream in Hyde Park, and Hampstead heath, constitute the best of britain.
No mention of the English Riviera South Hams, Dartmoor, Exmoor, Or Cornwall, North Devon, all of these locations have either lovely beaches, beautiful countryside, clean sparkling streams and rivers, much better than a man made concrete stream or fountain i think.

When the people keep coming on telling us about how lonely they are and how they want to meet people. Go down to the scam or report AREA and wipe them off   Very easy, the arrow will bring up the scam and report area if you HOVER the cursor over it.

everywhere looks good in sunshine

I'd rather go to Harlyn Sands, Cornwall, or Mother Ivies, any where along that Cornish coastline.. Or what about the Jurrasic coast line? Beautiful place and full of interesting things. And for a walk? Why not a walk through Princetown, Dartmoor? Or even the Lake District? All better than the concrete of London, no offence intended.

Re Picture 1. The usual stuff from MSN - start off by rubbishing Scotland, throw in a patronising bit about the scenery and disregard the facts. It was 27C in Aviemore this afternoon but the focus is kept solely on one of today's cooler spots on the east coast. You'd almost think the writer didn't want anyone to know how warm it was in parts of Scotland today. Surely not !

I love London and as a resident I would never waste a drop of sunlight on it!!!

Brighton?? too overcrowded and the beach is pebbles. Who wants to get back aches and pain after being a so called tan?

The editor of this article needs to get out more! As reported on the news last week, the best beach is between Bournemouth and Sandbanks in Lovely Dorset. The jurassic coast has most of the best coved beaches in the country along with Devon and Cornwall. Brighton? It's like sitting in a Gravel Pit.

Christine Spencer.
Hi Christine, it is a waste of time reporting these lonely hearts adverts, MSN do absolutely nothing to vet them or remove them.
They are so annoying, and of late they seem to have got far far worse, every other post is one of these damn adverts for lonely hearts or get rich schemes.
Maybe if enough people complained something might be done, but i doubt it very much.

sorrry but if you want the beach and a little more warmth and a slower pace of life its got to be the channel islands, Further south than the rest of you guys so generally warmer and happier lol

At Loch Ness we had a high of 37.2c outside my kitchen window. You even have a beautiful loch to swim in but no skinny dipping please, as the "Snapper" in Loch Ness is a little bigger than normal......
