I live in Margate and I have to tell you it's still a bombsite and it's a horrible place to be. However just down the road is BROADSTAIRS. What a stunning place - the best fish and chip shop in the world is there (STAR OF THE SEA) you really should go there.

I also had my honeymoon in Horton on the Gower Peninsular - that is the closest I have ever been to being in the Garden of Eden, it is so beautiful

Rubbish picture of Whitby - it could be anywhere.  A little row of beach huts, table & chairs!  Whitby is quaint, relatively unspoilt & has a beautiful old Abbey & church on the hill.  The hotels & guest houses are good value & it's ideal for family holidays.

Geographically, all places are nice until the fat, tattooed, illiterate, bad attitude cockneys turn up.

Are they kidding when they say Brighton,it's only notable as the 'gay' capital of England,Hastings is a run down town that's lost it's character, but,it's funny how, between the two towns mentioned, lies Eastbourne, that beats both of them.

I would probably vote for Scarborough as the best northern resort.

My favourite place to visit is Scarborough on the North Yorkshire coast, with stunning views from Oliver's Mount over-looking the South Bay towards the headland and harbour,  although Whitby and Torquay (English Riviera, South Devon) come a close second as my favourite places to visit.

Why has no one chosen Lyme Regis? It's absolutely beautiful, lovely little town, great beach for the kids, together with a harbour and sunshine. Life Boat week in July, is the best - great times

I lived on the Isle of Arran (Ayshire) for a number years - beautiful beaches and scenery.  I now live on the Scottish west coast and there are some spectacular beaches and views where I am.
