Longest building
Modlin Fortress, Poland
Set in a breathtaking location, this fortress is home to Europe's longest building and is one of the largest 19th century fortresses in the world. It's the main barracks that hold the record; measuring 2,250 metres long, the building was constructed in 1806 when Napoleon ordered the fortification of the bridgeheads on Poland's Vistula river. Legend has it that Napoleon himself was behind the blueprints.
