Sicily is not only cheap to get to (if you put yourself through the pain of a connecting flight in Milan, flights are even cheaper) but once you are there, the cost of living is ridiculously low. You'll rub your eyes as you buy a punnet of Pomodorino tomatoes for a fraction of the cost back home, and the villas are usually gorgeous, dusky-pink behemoths.

The people are very friendly and if, like me, you find yourself at the museum in Palermo 50 cents shy of the entrance fee, you'll gawp as the kind ladies wave you through. The best kind of laid-back, in my opinion.

Top Travelzoo deal: Return flights to Sicily start from £56

I have been to some of those destinations, one fact which is not mentioned in the article is although they are nice and untouched beaches ,but the northern countries ( Estonia, Belgium,...) are cold in summer, so it is not for swimming .with strong winds, one can just have fun flying a kite.

Poland is not cheap, taxi and beer are not essentials of a travel, hotels are. you dont expect people to sleep in the streets and get a taxi . do you?

half of MSN articles are just fake advertisements rather than a real giude. DISAPPOINTING.:(

The euro is NOT at an all time low, it's 1penny under 80pence which it's been at for almost two years!  Get a grip!

The Euro is still bad news and all places in Europe are a rip off and NOT cheap.Food in Spain is twice the price compared to the UK. The glory days are over when your Pesetas lasted ages and you got value for money. This is all ruined now through greed.

For the price of going to a northern country go do a little trip of the Balkans. Croatia Montenegro Macedonia and Greece. All of these offer great food cheap accomodation and great weather.

Does MSN get paid for there wholly incorrect advice or information on just about every topic under the sun. I have yet to read a completely accurate recommendation, for anything, on your pages. You make the Sun newspaper look completely reliable.

Someone....oh how sad for you. I am a loner, 60, f. and I have a fantastic life. I have decided that finding "someone" at my age will probably imply becoming a free nurse for life. At our age is not a question of love  but of friendship and finding interests and values you  can share with others. Loneliness is in your mind and that cannot you change.
