Jacques Chirac was famously rude about its food (Britain's was the next worst in the world, he said), and he is not alone in his inclination if our message board users are any guide.
For some, the first syllable of the capital's name sums Finland up. One user even brands Helsinki Depressing.com. Another points out that, thanks to Nokia and other homegrown microelectronics companies, the city has one of the highest concentrations of mobile phone users in the world – all jabbering away into their handsets.
That's nothing, though, says Moonrakermuso: try Kuusamo, in northern Finland. The "icehole of the world", our contributor calls it, "freezing cold for eight months and [swarming with] millions of mosquitoes in the damp summer".

This is so wrong. Canada is not only beautiful and cultural, we have many amusements for children as well as adults. Toronto Vancouver Montreal and Ottawa. Ottawa has Winterlude and the longest skating rink in the world. At Winterlude you will also see ice sculptures, Jacques Cartier Park in Gatineau just across the river offers fun for the whole family. We have Niagara Falls with so much history there and lots of amusements for the kids including hotels with water parks inside. Rocky Mountains wow; take the train through the Rockies and you will see sheer beauty. Quebec City is full of culture and history and is fun for kids. Look for an outdoor oven that bakes homemade bread and maple butter artists row etc. etc. The Maritimes are exciting and very family oriented so you would find things to do.
Our country is wondeerful and I am so happy I grew up in this country with all the culture and history from coast to coast
