Come on, lads, be truthful: how many of you have ever daydreamed of diving into a giant tub of frothy beer? No? Are you sure about that? Because your heady fantasies can actually come true in a growing number of brewery spas in Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic.
It seems the vitamins and yeast in beer are quite cleansing for the skin. To capitalise on the effect, the Austrian brewery the Starkenberg fills a small swimming pool with its Pilsner so bathers can have a good soak. For its part the Landhotel Moorhof, just outside Salzburg, follows a beery soak in its couple-size barrel-shaped tubs with a four-course beer-themed dinner, including beer soup and even beer crepes for desert.
