Laucala Island, Fiji
Owned by Dietrich Mateschitz, founder of the Red Bull drinks company, Laucala Island is so exclusive you need a password just to get through the website. Let's face it: that's about as close as the average Joe will get to this luxury, all-inclusive resort, where a night in a one room villa costs around $3,800 (£2,500) and some of the rooms come with their own private beach. It's exclusive in another sense, too, in that it is highly self-sufficient: the toiletries in the bathroom and the honey served in the restaurants are made on the island, for example.
