Where: New York, US

Located in one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Manhattan, Chinatown is a great place to snap up a bargain. Of course, not all the goods on offer here are of the finest quality but for the prices that's to be expected. It's worth going just to check out one of New York's liveliest blocks - where else but Canal Street can you see roasted ducks dangling from traditional Chinese shop windows, while you quibble over a fake Gucci handbag in the shadow of a looming glass skyscraper?
