This looks amazing, but we will never experience it as it most likely will be £100.000 a night. Something else for the rich to look forward to.

what the hell... how much do they want to ruin the ocean.. half of what they have constructed is not yet been occupied and don't speak about the damage that has caused to the natural habitat and flow of currents, marine and environment. Few years from now...the entire place is going to be a waste land with half constructed or ignored places and resorts. not being negative, I love creativity and have lived and experienced life in Dubai. If they wanted to have a wow factor.. help the needy.

Dubai will never learn they nearly went bust in 2009 spending loads of money on these ridiculous projects. We have worked in Dubai on some of these schemes but try getting paid. No way.You wait 6 months if you are lucky and then you only get your money if you give a massive settlement discount. Its great for Dubai to spend other peoples money.

I wonder how much damage it will cause to the environment. The first few people who go to the hotel will see nothing, as the fish will have moved away and coral damaged, and possibly bleached. The environment may come back but it will take years and the hotel will not be able to afford to wait for it come back. Its not a necessary disruption to a fragile environment; if you want to see the fish and coral scuba dive or snorkel.

"One is underwater and the other is beneath the surface"? Doesn't that make both underwater, or beneath the surface as they mean the same thing? The stairway is sealed seeing as it is half underwater anyway so why hope there isn't inclement weather conditions? Says a lot about Dubai "Visit Dubai and stay underwater to see the wonders!(Because there is nothing to see on land)"

In case of fire; you can just break the window and swim to the surface, of course you might drown before you get there.

Why are people writing that this article says "One is underwater and the other is beneath the surface".  Cant they read?  It clearly says "One is underwater and the other is above the surface.  You would think people would read carefully before they start slating people.
