Sorry folks, but that distinct chill you feel inching its way down your collar is a sign that autumn is on its way. Since summer never even bothered to arrive, we've picked 22 of our favourite places for a good dose of vitamin D. Take your pick!

Destination: Thailand
Average temperature in September: 29C
Like Singapore, Thailand is more prone to rainfall in September and October but apart from a few torrential downpours, most showers are over in a matter of minutes. However, these sudden rain showers help to lower the high humidity and the weather remains warm.

Visitors can expect lower prices and the country is generally much greener during these months, with many places, such as Chiang Mai, which is famous for its waterfalls, becoming even more impressive.

Why isnt MSN stopping all the spam dating sites ruining every article with their ridiculous reports. I keep reporting them as spam and seconds later they are back up again. Is it someone at MSN who is actually sending the spam out - it is time it was stopped- it is getting terrible tiresome for everyone.

52 comments - 15 spam - pointless using MSN anymore

What about Portugal the Algarve in particular?
avatar
Don't forget the Algarve where the temperature is always good, September usually around 25-30deg.
Greece is another favourite.
Note both these countries have a lot less flying time that some of the ones suggested and cheaper flights too.

Ramadan dates continually advance each year, This year it was end of July through August.
Worth knowing as many shops etc close during the day.

Right now Portugal is enjoying an average daily temp of 35C. The beaches are lovely, eats and drinks are very reasonable and there is plenty to see and do, if you get out of the bars. There is not much chance of significant rain before December so no need to overdress. Smart casual is very much the norm.

If you haven't visited, you should.

Oh yeah. I live here.

The northern part of Cyprus is a self declared state that is ONLY recognized by Turkey who has ILLEGALLY occupied that part of the island.

Great country to vist don't get me wrong, but, September/October does not suffer a few torrential downpours, they suffer prolonged torrential downpours much of what us in the west can not even comprehend! The streets are turned into rivers and the downpours last most if not all the day.

Yes the weather is warm, it is all year round in Thailand, rarely dropping out of the 30's during the day and the 20's during the night, although in the North and North-East they suffer much colder winter temperatures.

Also it is extremely humid all year round, especially during the rainy season, the least humid time of year December - February also happen to be the driest and least humid, but go ahead and visit dont let the rain stop you (but be warned) there are not many beaches that are safe to go swimming or would you want to go swimming at this time of year, so by no means is September/October in Thailand an ideal beach/sun time holiday.

But it's still an amazing country.

Have just come back from Kenya, the migration only lasts for around 7 days and this is already happening, so late September would be too late.  Lake Nakuru National Park is a must for seeing Rhinos, however not a patch on seeing the wildlife on the Mara.

Corsica is incredible! In the way of having clear blue waters, loads of sunshine and stunning countryside. But all of it is hardly any distance from the UK...So much cheaper and quicker than flying to Thailand; only 1 hour 45 mins in total from Gatwick!!
